El Dorado Hills company aims to support underserved communities with affordable medical services
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – MEDnRX, a new innovative telemedicine and telepharmacy company, proudly announces the grand opening of its first physical location at SF Market in Rancho Cordova. This groundbreaking hub aims to transform healthcare accessibility for underserved communities, offering a unique blend of virtual medical consultations and on-site pharmacy services designed to eliminate barriers to care.
Founded by Dr. Steven Gest and Vaibhav Shah, MEDnRX is committed to providing affordable and convenient healthcare solutions for patients, particularly those who may be uninsured or reside in areas with limited healthcare options. The SF Market facility enables patients to connect with medical professionals virtually, fill prescriptions on-site and access essential healthcare services—all in one secure and welcoming environment.
“We established MEDnRX to dismantle the obstacles that prevent individuals from accessing quality healthcare,” said Dr. Gest, co-founder of MEDnRX. “The opening of this location is a significant step forward in our mission to serve those who need reliable and timely medical care, particularly in our underserved communities.”
“With the help of technology, our goal is to make healthcare more accessible and more affordable”, said Vaibhav Shah, Co-Founder & CTO. “We are constantly innovating to improve the way people access care, ensuring that convenience and cost-effectiveness are prioritized.”
This initiative comes at a time when many retail pharmacies are closing, contributing to the rise of pharmacy deserts—areas where individuals must drive longer distances and endure longer wait times to access necessary medications. MEDnRX is committed to addressing these challenges by providing convenient, on-site pharmacy services at its location, helping to alleviate the burden on underserved communities.
Based in El Dorado Hills, MEDnRX chose the Greater Sacramento region as the first market to launch its kiosks. The Greater Sacramento launch addresses a critical healthcare need while also stimulating the local economy. It is expected to create numerous jobs across healthcare, pharmacy management and telemedicine services. MEDnRX has ambitious plans to expand its reach within the Greater Sacramento region, aiming to bring vital healthcare services to even more communities.
“MEDnRX’s first telemedicine kiosk in Rancho Cordova is a game changer for healthcare access in our region,” said Barry Broome, President & CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council. “This move not only advances healthcare innovation and wellness for our residents but also contributes to economic growth by creating jobs and fostering a healthier, more resilient community.”
This initiative is particularly important as it addresses the growing demand for accessible healthcare solutions in the wake of the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. By integrating telemedicine with pharmacy services, MEDnRX is setting a new standard for patient-centered care in the region.
“This innovative telemedicine kiosk at SF Market exemplifies the kind of accessible healthcare solutions that can make a real difference in our underserved communities,” said Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, President & CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “MEDnRX’s commitment to breaking down barriers to care aligns with our mission to uplift the health and well-being of all residents in the Greater Sacramento region, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening on Thursday, December 12th at 10am.
